Learn About the World
The seven continents
Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. Asia is by far the largest and holds most of the world's people. Antarctica has no permanent residents at all — only scientists who stay for a season at a time.
Reading a map
North is usually at the top, and a compass rose shows which way the other directions run. Blue is water and everything else is land, unless the key says otherwise. Learning to check the key first is a habit worth starting early.
Landmarks tell you about people
A building shows what the people who made it valued and what materials they had. Stone temples, timber windmills and iron towers all belong to different times and different problems being solved.

- Is the map accurate enough for schoolwork?
- It is a simplified outline map suited to colouring and continent recognition, not a precise atlas plate for measuring or labelling countries.
- Can I print these for a whole class?
- Yes. Teachers, childminders and homeschooling parents may print as many copies as they need for their own children. Selling the files or reposting them elsewhere online is not permitted.
- What paper should I print on?
- Plain 80–120 gsm US Letter or A4 paper works for crayons and coloured pencils. Choose 'Fit to page' in your print dialog. If your child uses felt tips or paint, step up to 160 gsm card so the colour does not bleed through.
