What it ate
Ankylosaurus had a wide beak and small leaf-shaped teeth, suited to low-growing plants. It fed close to the ground rather than reaching up into trees.
About the Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus was a wide, low plant eater from the very end of the Cretaceous Period in North America. Its back was covered in plates of bone set into the skin, and it carried a heavy club of bone at the end of its tail.

- The name Ankylosaurus means “fused lizard”.
- Bony plates in its skin acted like armour.
- The end of its tail was a solid club of bone.
- Even its eyelids had bony protection.
